Smurfysteve When I was a kid I always had kinda eggs. I had a hole tin filled to the top with all the toys you used to get in them as I used to collect them. I remember having some of the kinda smurfs with the stick on eyes. But I dont remember having any of the solid ones like the footballers. I have got some of the later ones in the eggs over the years but I dont have many. I have got a little solid natt figure that comes with one of the Maxi eggs but none of what should go with him I got him at a car bootsale a few years ago and at the time i thought he was an odd smurf never seen one like it at the time so I got it and asked around to find out what he was.

Smurfy regards
Steve.

giraffe We had Kinders here in Australia and at Easter time I even saw some Kinder Maxis but I have never seen a smurf in any of them. Not that I buy them that often. Sometimes my 3yr old wants one and we get one.

Karen Thanks for the info, Pete.

Pete Suzanne of the SCCI big on the Kinder Smurfs, and I have nearly everyone thanks to her! I also have a kinder price guide, listing all the Smurf sets with Euro values.

Gotta leave for the day job right now, but I'm loving that case! Price is not market value though, I'm pretty sure - seems high. There are a few kinders that are pretty pricy, but I don' see any of them there.

Kinder goes back at least to the 70's I'm pretty sure. Early Kinder Smurfs are one hard piece, but later they came apart like a puzzle. There are also Kinder plush, Kinder playsets, Kinder smurf puzzles and I have a Kinder movie camera that you look into and turn a crank to see a smurf movie! I love my Kinders, but seldom have opportunity to add to the collection. I bought out the US Kinder site a while back, (the Smurfs anyway) but they are mostly gone - try searching the site for "kinder" to see what is left.

In the US, it is illegal to put a non-edible into food, so Kinders are banned here because the chocolate egg contains a toy. Like a kid will eat that, stupid! (The same law makes exceptions for popsicle and lollipop sticks). I work for FDA and happen to know that FDA will not go after any imported lot valued at under $1,000 dollars, but Kinder is afraid of trouble, and won't ship to the US regardless, and pressured the US Kinder site to close. I do see them once in a blue moon, usually at small Mom & Pop importers, but never have seen Smurf kinders here...

They are a Canadian/European thing mostly...

Karen Wow, Maureen, that's a nice thing to own. I don't even know when these date back to, the first I knew about Kinder Eggs was when my kids kept asking for them. I'm assuming they were originally a German thing because of the name Kinder, does anyone know how long Kinder eggs have been about and when they had the smurfy ones?

You lucky smurfer you!!! Thanks heaps for the information very handy to know!

I noticed this wonderful seller has reduced the price a whole $25.00 maybe if we wait long enough he might actually drop it to the price its suppose to be...but i think thats wishful thinking...

Smurfysteve oh yes it is one of my favorite sellers! But that is a really nice case. If only it was cheaper.
