I am not exactly new to this website and the forum, because I kept my eye on it for quite a while already. However, it's been a thousand of years (or so) since I logged in, so, officially, this is a "say hi and introduce myself" message to the community...

I am a smurf collector since years from Belgium. In fact, I've been "collecting" smurfs since I was a kid. It started when I was around 6 or 7 years old. Back then, I eventually switched my Playmobil, Lego and Matchbox cars for Smurfs and other figurines. During the years, me and my brother built up a collection without really being aware of it, just for play with them. Growing older, we stopped playing but kept on collecting and so, through all that time, we now have a great collection of smurfs...

I don't collect everything about smurfs though. I only collect the figurines and all items which have to do with the smurf village. I don't have interest in plastic toys, pluche dolls, fake smurfs etc... That way, I could settle my goal and aim for the things I really want : figurines.

I hope to post some images of this and that later on.

Hi Kevin; Welcome to the fourm, or welcome back to the fourm. I certainly understand just collecting one thing. I have tried to collect everything, and boy is it tough to do. My whole house is just about full. Every wall, shelf and anywhere else I can find is full.

Hi Kevin, Welcome to the forum.
If you need any answers to any question you may have about Smurfs this is the place.
I tried to collect just the figures but I found out very soon after that that didn't work. I tried to collect just Smurfs made by Schleich but that didn't work either. Love the original Smurfs but I found that if you like Smurfs you have to broaden your collecting to include almost all Smurfs.

And boy that is really, really hard to do.

I don't agree 100% dear Schleich.
You see, in my case, as a young kid I played with Smurfs. Figurines from Bully and Schleich. From that came forth my "need" to collect them.
I never had plastic Smurfs items, I never cared for them, like plastic McDonalds items, or pins, or Smurfs in matchbox-like cars, or all those plastic things they sell now because of the Smurfs movie... Strange to hear ? It's just putting a limit on things for yourself...
It's good like this for me. I'll post now and then pictures of parts of my collections later.
