Windmill and e-bay question
Hi everybody! I have a question that I'm sure the regulars will know the answer to. I want to sell my windmill on e-bay, but I am unsure of what price to list it as. I looked in the price/ID guide thing on this site, but I just want some opinions on what a "real" smurf collector would pay on e-bay. Also, I have never bought or sold anything on e-bay and I would like some opinions about it. I have read some posts here where people complain that the prices are greatly over-inflated, but then other posts say that most of their collection was purchased off of e-bay. I am so confused!! By the way, my windmill is in the original box, although there is some damage to the lid of the box. I would imagine that this affects the price, but I don't know if e-bay collectors care about those details. Thanks & I'm sure I'll be talking to some of you all elsewhere!

Hi Lucretia
The fact that you still have the box makes the Windmill more valuable. I am not sure what the best price is to start the Windmill at but I would be hoping for around $70 US as a rough figure. Of course there are ebay fees which go up the higher you list it but you have to think how much do you want for the item. You could use a reserve so the Windmill doesn't sell too cheaply which can keep your ebay fees down a bit. I bought my old style Windmill MIB for about $25 US but that was an absolute bargain and I would be hoping to sell it for a lot more than that if I listed it. I guess one thing you could do is look forthat Windmill on ebay and see what the prices end up at when the auction finishes. Thismay be the best way of guaging what the current market value is for the Windmill. Dyar

With the older windmills I would expect at least £35 which is just over 60 us dollars.
With the newer windmills, these are actually much harder to find and I would expect quite a bit more for one of those.

Thanks you guys for the info! I did not even know about fees on e-bay- I guess I am a little naive! What did I expect, that e-bay lets people list things for free? See I knew you guys would be the knowledge gurus!
