Syd Smurf Wahooooooooooo Bron

That's great news to hear as you now have some really cool smurf items. I love the smurf buildings and they make any collection look so much nicer I think. Nice to see some decent help at DJs too.....it doesn't always happen there in Sydney.

If you can please post some pics of yoru smurf collection complete with your new cool additions.

bluenosesmurf I wish it were thet easy here. I have given up on buying any smurfy stuff in Person, it's online shopping for me

bcoxena Wow! That is amazing for you! Hope you enjoy those. The Windmill is a very nice building but a bugger to put together.

And good service from david jones.
Wish they were a little better here ha!
I have my name/number down for a couple of smurfs but doubt they'd get in contact if they came in. They probably would have no idea. But I'm getting the Ref with Red Card soon from a member at the bluecavern forum. Doing a smurf swap with an american with a spare ref! So the only other DJ smurf that I will be after is the pop singer.. but I never remember seeing him so I will not try too hard for that one.

Anyway, well done Bron!

Brad.

Pinkbandicoot I have the smurf windmill too!!!!

The nice David Jones people were true to their word, and got in what they could for me, then sent me an email saying they would hold the items they got in for me until I was next in Perth (knowing that I work away and all)!! I was surprised, as you don't normally get that kind of service in retail!!

So anyway, I am the proud new owner of a smurf windmill, a large mushroom house with an orange roof, and a small mushroom cottage with a blue roof!

I'm excited!

Yeah, that's right. I think there are still plenty of those two in the Adelaide stores. I actually didn't buy those two until probably the end of last year I think. I kept putting off buying them and opting for a smurf. And you really want to buy them both at the same time. I had a Gargamel already, the lab one. I actually paid 20 dollars for him. Brought from the adelaide toy fair probably 3 or 4 years ago. I think I've been the last 5 years now.

ahh,.. smurfy dreams! aren't they the best. hehe

Yes. The farmhouse was fun to put together. Unlike the Windmill that frustrated me. And the Farmhouse looks great. When I first got it, I was surprised that it had to be put together. As I expected it to be already together (the walls connected to a floor) in the box.

Well the houses seem very common throughout the David Jones stores here and they haven't been out of them since they were first in. And like I said, if David Jones are placing in another order for September, they'll get more houses. Goodluck.

I remember that discussion before. Maybe it was on the old forums. When questions were asked about why they didn't make larger Gargamels in proportion to smurfs and why they haven't made different characters that have appeared in the cartoons. I can't remember why that was. I think it had something to do with marketing for the audience of today that don't know smurf history and didn't grow up with the cartoon. So making characters that aren't smurfs, they figure wouldn't sell as well with the general public.?? I think. But it would be great to have a large Gargamel pvc. I have seen a large Gargamel soft toy on American eday before. He would be great to have.

bcoxena That is great that you managed to buy some smurfs. Too bad about the houses. They didn't have any left :( I was told last week that they will be getting a new shipment in, in September. The large house and 3 smaller houses are still on the catalogue. But as I have found out, the windmill and farmhouse have since been discontinued. The women also said that they often rotate stock from store to store. If that only means between stores in the state only or maybe inter-state, they could get houses in. So good luck. If you are eager to get the houses you might want to try ringing the Adelaide city store (I saw last week, and they still have heaps of the houses) and see if they can send these items that you want to your local store for you to pick up. Someone here at the beginning of the year when I saw the first windmill in Adelaide, I didn't have the money, I tipped the person off and they had DJ send it to their state. So that could be an idea if you don't wish to wait. You said that you brought the farmhouse on ebay didn’t you? And it arrived. What did you think of it? Enjoy putting it together? It’s a really nice building. And yes, the selection of smurfs is quite low. As they have been selling smurfs for 2 years now, most stores don't have much left.

Anyway, glad that you did well out of your DJ trip.

Pinkbandicoot Hey there! I just got back from a trip to David Jones in the city here in Perth! I managed to pick myself up 9 pvc's that I didn't already have, including gargamel and azrael! AND the best part was, there was a 20% off toy sale there today! So that was a bonus!

I also got four little box sets:
Papa smurf with blackboard
Smurf writing at his desk
Smurf in hammock
and sunbathing smurf with palm tree

The guy at the counter said that they sold out of buildings ages ago, but were hoping to get more in. He took my name and number, so hopefully he will call me if/when they do get any more in. He told me they definitely did have windmills and mushroom houses at one stage!

Quite a successful trip really... not much selection left in the way of smurfs, but I did come home with smurfs none-the-less!

Thats great! Let us know how you get on.

I have now checked all DJ stores in Adelaide.
So I can confirm that these are the smurfs I am after.
Any help would be great! Thanks. s20451 Singer, s20453 Snowboarder Smurfette and finally s20472 Ref with Red Card
