Another Aussie on the block

Hi all,
Well I live in Newcastle, NSW and used to collect smurfs when I was little, unfortunately my sister figured I didn't want my smurfs and sold them (sisters gotta love em) so I have decide to regain some of my youth by starting my collection again...

Boy, do I have a lot to learn as far as fakes etc, but no worries I'll get there....

Cheers

Meagan

Hi Meagan

Nice to see another Aussie pick up the hobby again....and another girl from Newy I know a couple of collectors from that region like Michelle, Heather & Carmel who you might already be familiar with.

If you need any questions answered then like Gary says...feel free to ask and make this place your forum as well.

Good luck with the smurf hunting

Hi Meagan

I think the best one is the Der Schlumpf Katalog IV. I will post a picture of it down below. This is the 4th and best edition these authors have released and they are available at Mushroom Village I believe. The catalogue is in German but I can help you to understand it easier if you have any troubles as I have gone through the book several times and can now read it without a problem.

It features lots of variations of the regular and super smurfs and also goes on to show promos, fakes, raws, playsets & buildings.

This would be my recommendation as the best guide available as it taught me so much about what smurfs are out there. If you need any other questions answered regarding this then please feel free to ask.

Re: Another Aussie on the block

Yay! another Aussie! wow. They are all coming out the woodwork now aren't they. I think with the whole Kmart selling smurfs it must have set people off. Welcome Meagan! I'm Brad. Live in Adelaide. Checkout the oz forum and the archived oz forum. You can read up on all the going's on for us.

I haven't brought a guide yet. I was actually waiting for the next edition. As knowing my luck, I'd spend out the money on this one and then a month later a new edition would be released. So I've been holding out for the moment.

Brad.
