Re: How do you Smurf?
Can I come?
I was cool in the 80's with my big hair and bangs.
I still know all the song lyrics, I would be invaluable to you if you happened to need a Girl Guide who can sing any Bananarama song while solving a Rubik's cube!! Just a few of my hidden 80's talents.

Re: How do you Smurf?
You can solve the rubiks cube?????? Now that is talent. I have one here and sometimes I try to solve it but I get nowhere with it.
I should give you an 80's music quizz.....I have put together about 10,000 music questions from Elvis to Britney.....including a lot of questions on groups from the 80s. The quizz covers most artists from 1957-2003. I have been a bit slack in the last couple of years. It's for a music trivia game I invented. I have trialled it with many people and they really like playing it....and these have all been different people with different tastes and different backgrounds. Unfortunately with Australia only being a small market the game companies down here do not look to manufacture locally made board games. I haven't even got a chance to tell them what type of game it is before they say "we don't have the resources to produce games here". They play it safe and just import Monopoly or one of the well known games that have already been produced and proven in the bigger markets....basically they are just distributors down here. It looks like I will have to take the game overseas if I have any chance of it getting on the market......sorry to blabber on about it.....but if you pick some artists you think you know then just post their names and I will give you a quizz on them.

Re: How do you Smurf?
My friends and I spend hours just reading questions aloud to each other, there is a board game we have here called "The 80's game" not just music, but events tv, movies and sports ( which I suck at) We also spend time playing the 90's version of Trivial Pursuit, which is easier because we can access that info quicker inour crammed with useless knowledge brains.
I would love to play your game. Man, you are just a multi-faceted guy!!!!!
1. John Cougar
2.Duran Duran???

Re: How do you Smurf?
Well I can't say I have personal memories of stirrup pants (which is good I think) but acid wash....oh yeah.....I had a pair. I actually remember bleaching them with elastic bands on them and instead of grey & black they ended up being blue & white....I thought they were very cool at the time......how bad do acid wash look now. Having said that....they will probably be back in fashion next year...lol
That's a cool bear...or at least was a very cool bear in the 80s. I thought he had a hairy chest at first....which isn't too surprising for a bear is it? However I have since realised that he is actually a she in a cool mini skirt....a few bangles on the arm and it could actually be Madonna....singing....Like a Bear Jen.

Re: How do you Smurf?
for a moment there i forgot was this post was about as i was lost in the eighties......
so i've been collecting smurfs now for about, maybe 8 years. but i've moved a few times so they were packed away, bought out again and started collecting again, packed away, bought out and started collecting again. hopefully this time they will stay out forever.
when i was a kid i had heaps, from BP and dad always used to bring me some back when he went to Italy. i remember when i was about 9 we went to Italy for a holiday and i took them all with me, i remember setting up a smurf village in my uncle's living room and making roads out of my brother audio tape covers. it was so cool.
and then when i was maybe 11, they all vanished!
since then i have searched my mums house over and over, every inch (cause you know, they're small) and nothing. she says i sold them!!!! i say she donated them when she donated my barbies caravan.
so i had to start over, i collect most things smurfy, from pvc to pasta, to playing cards, anything that catches my eye, but my main focus is pvc. dad still brings me some back when he goes to Italy, only difference is now i give him a list of the ones i want, with pictures!
why do i collect them? cause they're so damn cute!

I vote yes, but isn't that the single worse song of the 80's?? Tied with "walking on Sunshine"!!!
I lost my Barbie Van under similarly suspicious circumstances, also a pool. I still mourn them!!!!

Re: How do you Smurf?
Dyar,
If you finish the time machine, you will need to notify me immediatly! I really need to go back and change that situation with the goat, the peanut butter and Pink Floyd tour. I feel terrible about all that and what happened as a result of it. I would do anything to change it.
Also, I forgot to put my socks in the drier yesterday. I'll need those by tonight, so that time machine sure would come in handy so that I can go back in time one week, and write a note on the refridgerator telling me to read a note that I will place on the microwave that will contain specific instructions that I will place there to remind me to dry my socks. This should only take twenty two trips back in time , , , ,
Scott
