Re: How do you Smurf?
Welcome Schleich
Sounds like you have been building up your collection very quickly. I have onlyt been collecting for just over 2 years and I agree....VERY ADDICTIVE....but what else is there to buy?
Dyar
PS - Mrs Dyar has suggested food, clothes and paying the rent....somehow they just don't seem as interesting.

Re: How do you Smurf?
Hi everybody! I am not new to smurf collecting- just new to this site! I began collecting in 1981 or 1982. I am attaching a picture of my smurf collection form '82 (at least if I can figure out how to send an attachment- I am technologically impaired!) I have them all arranged just right, but in each picture from that day, there are subtle differences- Gargamel on the roof of a mushroom cottage, the photographer smurf facing the group for a portrait, etc. Aren't smurfs fun!?! Anyway, I haven't bought any new smurfs in probably 20 years! Dyar, I bet Mrs. Dyar wishes that was you talking, huh? Love to read all these posts, you guys, so keep 'em coming!
P.S. I have been struggling with that dumb attachment thing for 20 minutes- apparently I am incapable! Sorry, maybe on another post!

Re: How do you Smurf?
Hi Lucretia
I will try to help with sending the attachements.
After pressing "post reply"....
1. Click "manage attachemnts"
2. a box should come up where you press "browse"
3. This should take you to your computer files where you should be able to select which pic you want. When you find the pic you wantto use then click once on the pic and then press the "open" button which should attach it to the forum manage attachments box.
4. Then click the upload button (which appears on the manage attachment box) and wait for it to load.
5. Then you press "close this box" (on the manage attachment box)
6. Then you can press "submit reply" to post your message and pictures.
If you have any problems with these steps then just let us know and we will help you to figure it out as it's always nice to see photos of people's collections.

Re: How do you Smurf?
Also remember when posting that the picture should be either in the gif or jpeg(jpg) format AND should be less than 480 X 480 pixels.

Re: How do you Smurf?
Nice one Mr Schleich.
I love getting the little bonus items as well and they are always treasured with the rest of my collection. Which keychain was it?

Re: How do you Smurf?
It was actually me (Mr Chiefy) who posted that...
I actually don't know exactly what the key chain is, as my other half just said a keychain arrived too. I am abroad at the moment y'see. It'll be something to look forward to though. I caught a glimpse of the keychain last night when we had a webcam chat. He opened and lined up all my Smurfs as soon as the webcam connected which was kinda cute

Re: How do you Smurf?
Sorry Chief......(I feel like Maxwell Smart saying that)
You will have to forgive me as I did that twice on the other smurf forum yesterday too.....my only excuse was that I had a very big night on Saturday evening and I wasn't quite myself yesterday.
....and everyone noticed both times I did it so I am thinking of getting glasses or maybe my eyes tested or something.
Don't worry...you will get used to me....in time

I did not do it! I have resized it and followed Dyar's instructions. I will try one more time and then I will accept defeat.

Re: How do you Smurf?
YEAH ME! Thanks to all of you guys for your help! Please excuse my 80's look in the picture- it was taken in the 80's! This is not my whole collection now, but it was in 1982. Notice that I was an avid smurfette lover even then- they are all elevated above the rest of the village! My favorite part of this pic is how I have the camera man turned as though he is taking a portrait of the village. Thanks again to everyone that talked me through my first online photo download or upload or whatever it is called! Maybe now I'll post some other pics from back in the day!

Re: How do you Smurf?
Yay Lecretia
I knew you could do it and it's great to see a pic of you (albeit in 1982) and also some of your smurfs. Actually 1982 (when I was 8) was one of my favourite all time years in my life...a really special year to me.
We would love to see more pics so don't forget to remember not to forget how you did it the first time.

Re: How do you Smurf?
Woweeee I LOVE nostalgic pics! I love everything about the 80s, especially the early 80s, so more pics would be just great! I must get my scanner from the office as I have loads of pics too, not sure about Smurf ones though... ha ha.
